What is Micro-Needling?
Microneedling uses a state-of-the-art, automated device that can be used for both anti-aging treatment and hair restoration. This revolutionary technology allows us to treat patients more efficiently and comfortably and yield faster results.
Although it may sound scary, this is actually a very well tolerated procedure with little to no downtime (depending on depth of treatment). By stimulating the skin's natural ability to produce collagen, microneedling can produce smoother, tighter, younger and more radiant skin using your own body's response to the tiny needles.
Micro-needling uses a sterile needle-tip containing 12 tiny micro-needles to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin. This initiates the skin’s repair process to naturally produce collagen and elastin, an ideal environment to regrow your own natural hair. Micro-channels created by the treatment allow for optimal absorption of topical products and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), enhancing their effects in the deeper layers of skin.
Microneedle Resurfacing
This procedure is particularly effective for acne scars, hyperpigmentation (age or sun spots), fine lines and wrinkles (including around the mouth and under the eyes), large pores, and to reduce the appearance of stretch marks or scars.
Most people will need a series of 3 to 6 sessions for optimal results, depending on the reason for the procedure, your skin type, and your personal goals/desired results. Sessions are usually scheduled 4-8 weeks apart.
Microneedling with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
Combining the above microneedling technique with the application of a purified portion of your blood (PRP) that contains growth factors, you can achieve even greater results than with microneedling alone. This and similar procedures are sometimes referred to as "Vampire Facials" or "Blood Facials" by the media because of the use of blood products during the facial.
Growth factors must reach deep under the skin to be effective, which is why many creams containing growth factors and peptides are not as effective. By using microneedling in combination with application of PRP, tiny channels created by the needles allow the growth factors to travel through many layers of the skin and reach deep down to stimulate the body's own ability to produce collagen and elastin. This can be used to treat the signs of aging, improve skin tone and texture, give a more youthful appearance, to improve the appearance of acne and acne scarring, hairloss, as well as many other skin conditions.

Microneedling for Hair loss
When used with platelet-rich plasma (PRP), Microneedling can stimulate a renewed blood supply and proper nutrients to deprived hair follicles, which can work to restore your hair growth process. The renewed growth helps to fill in areas of receding or thinning hair in both men and women. PRP is a natural serum derived directly from your own cells to initiate regeneration. Microneedling allows us to get a deeper penetration of PRP infused into the skin, amplifying our hair restoration abilities.
A numbing agent is applied to the desired treatment area to maximize comfort. The scalp may be tender for up to 24 hours after treatment, but this should improve quickly. One treatment per month for 3-6 months is typically required for optimal results, and long-lasting results can be maintained with follow-up treatments every 6 to 12 months.
Blood is drawn from the arm in the same way as with any blood test. Then, using a centrifuge and a special method, platelet rich plasma is isolated the resultant growth factors. A numbing cream is applied liberally to the scalp. Either the PRP is spread across the scalp during the microneedling procedure or it can be injected directly into the scalp using a very thin needle. Once injected, the platelets immediately activate the body’s localized stem cells and begin rejuvenating and revitalizing the scalp to produce growth. The procedure is very tolerable with minimal discomfort and little to no downtime.
